    Hi
Im trying to get the ports in Uni opened to run BF 2142. I got this reply from the computing department:

Do you know if the applications can run through a http or socks proxy?.
It is unlikely that we could open the ports directly.

Can anyone telll me what they are talking about?
    Thanks
    Kev

I'd say they are more unwilling then unable to open the ports, especially in college. Most colleges have a fairly strict network policy, and opening ports can create holes in their security. And if you try to get around it yourself, you (at least in my college) can be banned from the network, or even kicked out (if its serious enough, or a common occurence)
