just a few questions before i order my new rig?

    1) is the E6700 worth the extra €200 over the E6600? Bearing in mind that ill be overclocking the cpu as far as possible.

    2) would watercooling be of any advantage over a really good cpu cooler?

    3) if i water cool my cpu, should i water cool my graphics card as well? ( 7950GX2). i hope to overclock that as well.

    tia guys

    1) Okay do NOT bother with the E6700. Its the same chip, but clocked higher from standard.

    2) Watercooling is pointless these days, there are aire coolers that can do it better then some high end kit. Like the tuniq.

    3) up to you really. Having a cpu and a dual graphics card will increase ambient water temps. plus the DD block for your card is 199$. There are cheaper, but from brands ive never heard of.

If you do decide to watercool. just do the craphics card.

but doesnt the 6700 have a higher multiplier?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,401 ✭✭✭✭Anti

    of 10 yes.

But they still clock the same. practicially, its just nto worth the extra money tbh.

Alot of people have started clockign the e6400. Can hit 3.3ghz on standard coolers. :)

like a headache... tidy up that list, keep all the HW together. All I keep seeing is HW, Akasa bling, HW, Akasa bling, Akasa bling ;)

IMO that isn't worth 3.5g's. Where are you building this from? Komplett?

    no overclockers.co.uk

Im less of a techie than most, but that does look like a great rig. However, I agree with L31mr0d, very expensive.

    ah so many options.....

how is that motherboard at overclocking the cpu in comparison with the P5B deluxe?

i do like the idea of a crossfire setup though :D:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,227 ✭✭✭awhir

i would go crossfire or get a x10 card will probley cost the same.

if you are going to be overclocking get the new abit board(1 pogs got)its ment to be the best overclocker on the market.

go for the dell 24" (or is it 22") they are ment to br great.

no need for such high clocked ram......

    get a better make psu(seasonic,tangan,ocz,enermax)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 6,201 ✭✭✭KamiKazi

i dont really want to go for dx10 as i think the first batch will be overpriced and buggy.

how much is that 24" dell screen?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,245 ✭✭✭✭Fanny Cradock

i think you are right when deciding not to go for the DX10 cards just yet. i personally believe that it is nearly always a bad idea to go for the first generation of a new technology.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,227 ✭✭✭awhir

its on ocuk and it around 900-1000 i think.........

yeah thats what i was thinking, and also dx9 should become cheaper once the new ones are out, in 3 days i believe?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,401 ✭✭✭✭Anti

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 862 ✭✭✭Psycopat
