It's quite clear anyway judging by his performances (or should I say lackof) that his heart isn't it for Shels for whatever reason. Maybe it's case he hasn't settled at the club or he's just not arsed (I think the latter personally). If he does leave I or Shels won't particulalry miss him.

    Derry pounce for Kelly

    May 18, 2006

Derry City have swooped to sign former star Darren Kelly from Carnegie Irish League side Portadown – although he must wait for a further six weeks before he is eligible to play for the Candystripes.

Kelly was out of contract at Ports and turned down the offer of a new contract from the Shamrock Park side.

Several eircom League sides were interested in the 26-year-old, while Stockport County, of English League Two, and an unidentified Scottish club also offers.

But Kelly has chosen to return to Derry, where he played before moving to Carlisle United four years ago.

He said: “I had offers from England and Scotland but there is nowhere I would rather be than my home town club. I am excited about getting started and fighting for a place in the team.

“I have six weeks before I am able to play so it is all about working hard in training. Derry are going well and it is a big challenge, going for the league and things like that.”

Dundalks chief executive Peter Halpin , yesterday was spotted in a Hotel in Dundalk with BFP aka Pat Dolan. I can only hope that john gill will get the sack and Dolan would take over :) or either come in for a director of football role. Watch this space anyone know anything of the contract that he has with Limerick ?

Pats offer contract to Neil Prince (legend born on paddys day ) scored 15 goals from right wing last season for Stalybridge , training with the club atm hasnt signed.

Pats after Zayed again but this time for a lot less than the 40k offered and the 60k demanded last season. Seems his time is up with Bray and their new management not as intent on keeping him as the last.

With all our players coming back to fitness, its lucky we can all have a St Pats pint for the 1st time in ever....... ;)

Ndo left Shels at christmas, it's old news Kdjac, you obviously haven't been to Richmond much this season if you've not noticed him playing there...

No we like you couldnt afford his wages or transfer fee, yeah why arent Drogs paying a fee? You demanded 4k off Pats but let him go for free.... bah smacks of favouritism ...tbh.

No you reliabley informed us he signed for Pats. Don't tell me you spread rumours you learned on some internet forum or something and claimed it as 100% truth!?

I'll go down and stick my house on him signing for Drogs so. Done deal. If Kdjac says it, and it's Shels related, it MUST be true.

I said he was signing as in everything was set but then Shels asked for 4k at the last minute, but hey HE told me this so obviously hes lying, he also told me how much he was getting at Drogs and how much Less Pats offered (600 less to be exact).

Seems i have been spot on with everything else so far? Wouldnt you agree? I mean i posted about the wages issue weeks before it came to light? I posted about cheques bouncing before it became news? I posted about players leaving and OMFG!!! they leaving. After all it is your players telling me this.

Seems to me i know more about your club then the fans of that club too or what they acknowledge as true.

I could add more of these internet rumours but im not one to gloat about anothers downfall even if its Shels. And sadly there are more.

Far be it from me to stick up for Shels, but how many players, to date, have left Shels since all these 'revelations' came out? Do we know for certain that Crowe/Ndo are off to Drogs? Kearney back to Cork City? We dont, and will not know until a club actually makes a statement.

Re Zayed, rumours that he was in Cork last weekend. Whether it was socialising or what remains to be seen, but for me there is only one conclusion - he is taking over from Lennox as chairman of CCFC.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,163 ✭✭✭Slash/ED

But Gimmick, the Shels players all have some kind of bat phone connection directly to Kdjacs house. Don't you know anything!? As soon as anything Shels related happens they're on the phone to give him the inside scoop.

Look at his track record! Every single thread he comes in and says some crap about Shels and sure hasn't it been true 200% of the time, if not more!? If Kdjac told me today was saturday I wouldn't argue with him, that's track record for you.

They wont make a statement with possible investors watching and none can leave till Saturday even if they left they couldnt play in ireland.

    .

No just 2, both i used to play ball with and the 3rd now plays for Rovers of the "good" players on our team. One lives on my road still play Cards with him every month owes me a score atm :D He says hes not getting paid i believe him.

But fact is Pats tried to sign Ndo the player agreed wages and at the last minute Ollie (not Collins or Fenlon) put a 4k transfer fee on him, Pats hoped to wait till July and get him fo r free who wouldnt really. Now Drogs are alleged to be signing him and Crowe.

Fact 2 Shels fans seem to be very clueless about the dealings on their own club, didnt you amongst others deny that a deal was struck 3 years ago about your ground?

On the bright side at least you know who i/was putting money into your club and for what reason (the ground), we just bought a pub (Mc Dowells) for 2.2 million and our mysterious benfactor wishes to remiain anonymous yet we still in debt of about 300k.

But im sure you heard those rumours......

Anyway off the get beaten now, im sure i hear more "rumours" tonight :D

Nope, that ones been known for ages and I never once denied it. Similarly, from what I've heard from my own reliable sources, we're in suprisingly good condition on the ground move front and if what I've heard is true we could end up pretty well off by the end of it. It's all rumours though, see, I don't put them on the internet and preach them as 100% gospel truth, that's the difference :)

Good effort tonight though, it was a close one :D

yeah fairly closeshame we left Socky on the bench meant Shels had to play football rather than resort to taking out Socky.

Latest on Liam Kearney: He is disillusioned with the game again, and is considering packing it in altogether.

This rumour also surfaced not long after Dolan signed him for Cork City when he wasnt getting his game.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,346 ✭✭✭✭KdjaCL

St Patrick’s Athletic FC have today agreed to the release of Glenn Larsen. Glenn joined the club at the start of the final round of fixtures last season. His playing position of just behind the strikers gave manager John McDonnell an added option for his team lineouts.

Glenn made ten starts and one appearance as a sub in the final eleven games of last season, his performances helping the Saints to pull clear of the relegation zone with two matches to spare.

For the 2006 season the club reverted to the standard 4-4-2 formation, leaving no free position for Glenn on the team. He has therefore taken the decision in the interests of his career to leave the club to seek another team.

St Patrick’s Athletic FC wish Glenn all the very best in his future footballing career.

No loss really, fans hated him after his performance in the Shels 2-2 game.

Renewed bid for Zayed and Keith Fahy to come back from Drogs (why do we sell players and ALWAYS get them back for free, Fahy, Molloy, Byrne?)

Latter depending on Ndo signing for Drogs.

PERTH LEAVES, FLOOD GOES ON LOAN, MAHER BACK
St Patrick's Athletic midfielder Vinnie Perth is leaving the club on a free transfer. Perth is expected to sign for Pat Scully's Shamrock Rovers side tomorrow when the transfer window opens and is expected to be available to play for them on Tuesday.

The Saints have also agreed to release Anthony Flood to Shamrock Rovers on a loan deal to the end of the current season. At the same time Ian Maher will travel in the opposite direction, the Saints having recalled him under the terms of his loan deal.

Rovers are our feeder club :D

Brian O Callaghan formerly of Barnsley and Notts County to sign for City in the next day or two. Lennox has stated there will be another 2-3 signings made in the window.

Liam Kearney has reportedly quit the game altogether. Heard this last week, but its turned out to be true!

City face a winding up order from the revenue, over a tax bill amounting to €400k. The matter is well in hand, and there will be no problems. Brian lennox has asked again though as to should eL clubs have to pay taxes, as it falls under entertainment. The league is dying on its feet, and surely the government could help out in tuis regard. But as out own Taoiseach is a Man U fan, I doubt he knows, or cares.

Not everyone can have tax breaks. We have to support important sports, like golf and horse racing.

Drogs seem to have nailed Zayed due to the injury to O Brien, dont know if we upping our bid but Bray accepted both and we could outbid them dunno if Jmc wants him that bad tho.

Neil Prince seemingly has a decent job in UK and doesnt want to leave unless we pay more so thats seemingly dead in the water. Hes been at our last 3 games and on trial for 4 weeks , why bother that much if you want to give up football????

Harris meant to be in talks with Pats over a 6 month deal from Shels.

Jmc has money to spend just noone to spend it on :( Adn we badly need a right winger.

    Great signing by Drogheda.

Zayed is the player outside the top 4 that is a class above. He has everything to be the best player in the league. He's fast, strong and with full time football he will only get better.

Annoyed that Cork City didnt make an offer, cause we certainly could do with a player of his ability up front.

George o Callaghan is transfer listed. Bust up today with Rico. Yawn. Presumably about being fined for his red card Vs Bohs. Though Rico did say in yesterdays paper that it cost City the win.

Only allowed leave for a club outside Ireland apparently. We'll see how this one pans out.

Lol except Maguire O Connor and now resurgent Molloy and suppose Sligo have Mansaram and Foy. Im sure there are others.

George o Callaghan is transfer listed

Andy Myler signs for Rovers and not Athlone shocking move that, as posted here Longford having some financial problems and pretty much all available.

Pats have more english lads on trial, Prince deal seemingly pretty much dead.
Bray accepted a 50k bid from Pats but Drogs went to 90k (obviously good hagglers, what happened to 55k? )

Interesting... wonder what Cork fans think of that.
Rico is wrong to blame the loss on George. We were doing better with him on the pitch -- Joxer was making a show of him, which he didn't like, and City were much more open. After the sending off, they sat back, and as we have seen time and again (e.g. every time we play Drogs), Bohs haven't a clue how to open up a team that does that.

I'm not sure what part of that I understand less, the fact Drogs want to spend money on that waster or the fact Bohs aren't snapping their hands off just to get him off the wage bill...

Mind you, Doolin is the man who bought James Keddy and Damien Lynch so he obviously has a thing for dire ex Bohs players.

Grant (aka Can't) isn't all bad. He always runs his socks off, which is more than can be said for some of his team mates. And he is second to none at getting the ball (when it's on the ground) and keeping it, which is why he still gets played, even though most want him dropped.
His only problem is that he doesn't score goals. A bit like Drogheda. :p

Keith Fahey had his contract terminated by Drogs, after being sold by Pats due to a falling out (we were 2nd bottom and he wanted to leave) now assessing his options of Bohs Shels and Pats. Hopefully he will go to Bohs, very good player but once a splitter always a splitter.

Oh no i feel the wrath of the Shels fans coming..... yes Ndo being touted around the EL again as a possible transfer target and as usual its Pats and Drogs rumoured to be in for him.

George O Callaghan also rumoured to be the subject of a 50K bid from Pats, cant see them selling to us(or anyone in EL) and tbh altho hes possibly the best player in the league would prefer if he stayed with Cork.

Glen Crowe also rumoured to be a target for Pats, tbh i dont want him either too slow and costs too much and Armstrong came back last night for his game in a year bet Jason Gavin waking up today with bruises in places he never knew he had :)
