There is probably a File Types options in the options, you should have DVD Video unticked, see if that helps.

Right click DVD drive select properties and change the autoplay options? I'm not sure but think that may work.

Most Media Player alternatives ask you if you want them to be the default player. Just install another one and you'll be grand
