Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ronaldinho has been named FIFPro Player of the Year for the 2005-06 season.

The Barcelona star won the most votes from the 43,000 players who were invited to make their vote on the best players of last year.

The Brazilian international enjoyed a fantastic season last term helping Barcelona win both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

Ronaldinho was honoured to win the award for the second year running.

"This is a huge honour and also provides important motivation to keep striving for future progress," said Ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho's Camp Nou team-mate Lionel Messi took ASPIRE Young FIFPro Player Player's Award and that was not the end of the success for Barcelona as Samuel Eto'o was handed the FIFPro Merit Award for his contribution to the sport

Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the ASPIRE Young Player Fan Award.

Italy's World Cup winning squad dominated the FIFPro Team of the 2005-06 season with four players making the side.

Gianluigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta and Andrea Pirlo were the four Azzurri players to make the team

World Cup runners-up France had three players in the shape of Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry and Lilian Thuram in the team.

Chelsea's John Terry, Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Milan's Kaka made up the rest of the team.

FFS, apart from cannavaro i can't think of anyone else who would've gotten it.

Can't argue with hthe Team of the Season - good first 11.

Perhaps Messi might've been a better choice for young player.

Hmm, only 2 EPL players chosen in the team of the year.

Seems that the people who actually play the game don't put much stock its "best league in the world" tag.

Thats because the majority of the worlds best play outside the prem. Personally I thought Fabio should have got it.

Does anyone know though, what the hell is that fan award?
