3G availability

Generally 3G phones tend to "prefer" 3G networks (assuming you have been provisioned for it. I'm not sure but I'd say any Vodafone account will work). So if you have a 3G phone it will try to register with a 3G network. If you look at the signal strength part of the phone it should tell whether it's on a 3G network or a 2G network.

But sometimes the signal can be weak and so the phone will go to a 2G signal. You can try to put it onto the 3G network by doing a manual network search (as if you were roaming in another country). I get a very weak Vodafone 3G signal in a certain part of my house. I do a manual search to get on the 3G network (but it doesn't stay there long).

    I hope that helps

At the top of the phone just to the right of the signal bars there'll be a little red box with 3g written in it whenever you're in 3g signal and just a G when you're in ordinary coverage.
