Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I bought about 3 different type hard-drive players. They are great, no more burning DVD's completly upgradable, USB2 downloads. And small enough to bring with you if your going travelling to just plug it in and you have all your movies. Great for the kids :-)

But I also got one similiar to the one on ebay. Not that good. Alot of ghosting on the screen.

I got this one, and is by far the best :-) But a little expensive. 150 euros without harddrive. But worth every penny. Has 5.1 surround sound output so it connects to your 5.1 system. Sound and picture is top notch!!! They are the future. I cant belive people are still burning DVD's :-)

Lidl have a dvd player going today for €50. USB2.0 for memory sticks, plays divx etc. and all the usual bits and bobs. Might be worth looking at for €50 you can't go wrong.

I got this one on E-Bay for about €40 incl delivery, no hard disk supplied

I fitted in a small 5gb drive from an old laptop and it's the business!

I'll upgrade to a bigger hard drive when I have a few quid

The AV cable you get with it is just a 3 phono plug cable, so the picture is probably not as good as on a pc but it's still pretty good.

It has a full menu interface, showing you the full filename of whatever you have on the drive - complete with remote control.

It has played any avi's I tried, not sure if they were encoded with Divx or xvid, but they played fine.

it makes some noise of course, nothing major. I only noticed the noise when I had it plugged into my pc and there was no other room noise. when i was playing back through my tv I didn't notice any noise.

There is also VGA out on this so if you ahd an LCD tv with this type of connection I'm sure the picture quality would be even better.
