Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    1. A once off advance payment of €60 may be required to call these numbers Is this still true for the 15xx numbers?

    2. Does Skydial, Telestunt etc 1890, 0818 and 15xx access numbers working on Meteor?

    3. What is the general price for 0818 numbers? Can't seem to find it on their web site.

    4. Is the phonenumber@SMS.mymeteor.ie email gateway still working or is just phonenumbers@MMS.mymeteor.ie the only one working?

I don't think they will be able to answer these questions, since I have heard that they are incompetent at best... :( So I hope you boarders could help me out!

At least give them a ring and find out for yourself if they are that incompetent or not.

I've delt with them a few times and have found them fine.

you must have been asking questions such as "what is the name of the organisation you work for?". even then its iffy.

the last time i phoned i was asking something a bit complicated and the guy said he didn't know and i should phone back later and hopefully i'd get someone who did. how's that for customer service?

The stuff I ring them up over is pricing questions, bill errors and the time I had my phone stolen.

If it gets more complicated than that for such items as gettnig settings and what not I'll google it or check out here.

Beware Meteor is the most expensive for 15xx numbers, by far! O2 is the cheapest. For example, calling 1520 from O2 is 20c a minute, but from Meteor it's 30c. 1530 the price difference is even bigger between O2 and Meteor!

Also, while I can't say anything positive about customer service for either, I can tell you that Meteor's staff are far unfriendlier than O2's, and have an attitude of "the customer is always wrong". You'll also find that roaming is more expensive with meteor.

    1. For bill pay, yes. There is a premium call bar. This is lifted after you pay your first 3 bills, with no charge to lift it.

    2. 1890 numbers do work. 1530s do as well as I know a guy who was using it for Moldovan calls. 0818 does work too as I use it for my Park Magic (parking thing in Limerick)

    3. Going by my records, a 15second call cost me 5c, so that works out at 20c a minute.

    4. It was working for me a while back. It's 003538xxxxxxxx@mms.mymeteor.ie

I figured it was time people actually answered your questions :)

yep, they set me up with roaming when i went on holidays.
the next time i went away i found they had turned it off.
"probably because i hadnt used it in a while"

it took 3 calls to get that much, first 2 people gave the usual meteor answer
"thats done now, turn your phone off, take off your shoes, turn around 3 times, turn your phone on again and it should be working. if not sure just give us another ring!!!"
that while standing in a payphone in berlin

Roaming, for pay as you go at least, is only supposed to last up to a month. I have to assume that you're bill pay as if you were Pay as you Go, your phone would work in Germany without any issues as it's in CAMEL roaming.

People have to remember that Meteor are not a major multinational company. O2 and Vodafone are, as are Three. Meteor are doing extremely well with what they have gotten, and for every customer who feels hard done by, there's probably ten who are happy. The negatives are just louder than the positives.

meh, im meteor bill pay and have been with them since they launched.
ive had at least 15 different handsets and have moved up from payg to bill pay so on.
i am 100% happy with the service they provide and have never said that i am not.
the issue i would take is that the contact staff have steadily been declining over the past few years to the stage now where i know my query will not be solve on the first call as the agent will do everything to get me off the phone rather than getting someone who knows what to do.
i know first hand the cause of this attitude and its poor support for the agents on the phone couple with pressure to meet serive levels.
meteor would do well to work on that aspect of their business as its not the massive issue to fix that everyone thinks it is.

you seem to know a lot about meteor chrislad, do you work for them?
also, why is roaming supposed to only last a month, they charge you enough to set up [albeit a credit pre-pay rather than a fee]
