Am I the only one who's going to ask why you hate it?

not as bad as the point though

I wouldn't go again unless there was a great line-up.

I thought the waiting this year was painful. In 2004 when we got our pit passes we were able to leave the arena and go back nearer the city centre for breakfast. We headed back to the RDS at our leisure when it was closer to the show. This year we had to stay put, it got really uncomfortable.
Plus, I don't know if I could muster up the same excitement for the band seeing them for the 4th time. A good few songs have been played at each gig.

Well I havent seen them, so I probably would go, if the support was good. If they did an Early Days tour I would go without thinking. I'd probably go abroad to see that.

    I hate Seek And Destroy....

I agree, Seek and Destroy is annoying. It just sounds very slow and boring compared to the rest of the album.

I've seen them 6 times now & I'd go again. It's always a good day out....

If only we could get them to play 'Dyers Eve' instead of 'Whiskey in the jar' though... ;):p

i hope next time they play whiskey first then all the red necks who spend every break in the concert shouting "whiskey whiskey!!" will shut the hell up, although they'll probably start into the cringworthy "ole olé olé.....!"business instead

If I could be gaurenteed of that, Id go see them again, hands down. Id also like to hear the Unforgiven 2, even though its such a useless song - in the fact its just a follow up to a previous classic, and thats something i never taught id see metallica do, rip off themselves - id still like to see it

Such a thing has never really happened in Ireland, with a band of Metallica's magnatude, having gladly paid 185Euro personally to see them 3 times in the past four years I have to say that enough is enough and it really drains the magic from their performance to come again.

It's simple really: don't pay any more money. Just don't go. I know lots of people who've seen them enough and don't wanna go again. I also know they will still lots of tickets.

I seen them for the first time last last year and I'll gladly see them again. It makes sense for them to tour again. If they release an album, they'll do a world tour tour. They're not gonna tour everywhere and not come to Ireland. That'd be stupid. Of course if they don't release an album, they won't tour. Simple and fairly logical really.

Last year was an exception as there was no album, but boy it was worth it!

Yeah, the 'buzz' and 'excitment' and what not does decrease signifigantly every year.
It is annoying but I have to admit, I have been entertained each time.

I've seen them a good few times, and I'd happily go see them again. While I do hate the point, it's always great to see "one" played indoors.

The animosity some people have towards them never made much sense, yes St. Anger sucked, but megadeth and maiden have had many completly crap albums then metallica (Load is a good album .. unload not so much). And quite frankly I agreed with Lars when he went after napster.

I'd def go see em again. 2003 didnt get anywhere near front, 2004 got to barrier, 2006 I got into pit. Maybe in 2007 I'l end up backstage the rate it's goin. I think they're excellent live. Hey, as long as i can download their music for free I'l fork out for tkts. :D

It's reload. not unload... or do u mean that greatest hits money spinner? Load is a suckfest country western sell out:mad: imo... St Anger. I hate. luckily played none of it last show

Seen them in 1999, 2003, 2004, 2006 and if they play again in 2007 Ill be there. Look at bands like System of A Down and Nine Inch Nails. They are bands that most would wet themselves to see, yet they never play Ireland. Metallica respect their Irish fans

Ehhhh, all of those bands have played Ireland.

To be fair, it's not up to a band to spin a globe and stick a pin wherever they feel like playing: "We wanna play Rand McNally!". It's down to their regional record company (who usually pay for the tour and choose what market they want the band to play), booking agents and local promoters. It's business, nothing more. If all those people don't think they'll make money by shipping a band, touring personnel and gear over to this island for one or two shows and then shipping it all somewhere else, they simply won't won't invest the money into making it happen. Sometimes they do think they will make money but for so many reasons (agreeing terms, dates, fees, cut of the merch, etc etc etc), it still doesn't happen. It's seldom a band will dictate where they play, more frequently they're handed a list of the next two months of their itinerary which tells them where their band will be on a particular date.

I'd imagine that metallica would have alot more control over these things than other bands though...

anybody now wen new material is released!!

True enough, but there wasa noticeable difference in the crowds between 2004's gig, and 2005's gig.
Eventually they will regret doing this.

I have to say I'd love to see them go back to an indoor gig, the point is a little small but can create an atmosphere. I remember seeing them agus Megadeth back in the early 90's and they were savage gigs.A few nights in the point wouldnt kill them :D Thing is at this stage of their careers their schedule is rammed and the money men have a huge say and what they do

God, will they ever **** off. I used really like this band, like I grew up listening to them and I went to see them in 2003 and 2004.. the first time was great, the second time was just more of a good day out..wasn't the 2006 show part of a "lets get out of the studio tour" or something rubbish like that. More like, give us your money..
The novelty is well and truely gone.
