Pro ev disc won't load/work/crashes!

    Hi, My copy of pro evolution 5 all of a sudden stopped working,
    when I put it in my ecternal freecom dvd writer it just makes a ticking noise and doesn't load up properly,
    when i try and click into the drive via my computer windows crashes and freezes until I remove the DVD,
    I presumed the Disc was scrathed so I waited until pro ev 6 which I have just found does not work,
    yet I am having no problem playing dvd's, I have not tried any other games,
    any ideas?

    Insert a disc press Control Alt Delete and on the processes tab check that autorun is running.

    Tbh i reckon this is a windows problem with installsheild or autorun.

    AUtorun doesn't run, nor install shield.

    Go to Start Control Panel Administritive Options Event Viewer and chedck Hardware and Application for an Error at the exact same time the disc was entered.

    Yes, I did that it appears to have a crypt32 error, any ideas on what it could be?

    post the full error message and follow the link thats provided, hopefully theres a solution on the page but i think you will be reinstalling Windowns soon.

    Thats a lot of errors, is there any other with big red Xs on them note the time, to create another stick in your disc and check the time in corner to the time in the log.

    Yes there are loads of them
    Unloading the performance counter strings for service WmiApRpl (WmiApRpl) failed. The Error code is the first DWORD in Data section.

    Reboot your pc (its ****ed seriously reinstall windows)

    Then when its started go to event viewer and insert PES5 disc, an error will occur with the exact same time as the moment you enter the disc or within a minute. Thats the one thats stopping the game running.

    Assume its a legit copy as a copy would deteriorate over time.
