In 4th year now, and every year my motivation to go to college decreases. Think I make about 60-70% of lectures but even when I'm there in body I'm usually not there in spirit!

i take it fairly seriously. only missed two lectures this term so far.

I'm going to be REALLY good now and try and make my morning lectures, starting at 10am.

MNG, if you do decide to sit exams, I have a pretty good set of notes for the core history course, I haven't missed much. If you're taking the Med history course, I have most things for that too and I could grab the Doing History notes off a friend for you if you needed. While I realise that that would mean making yourself known to us, ;) , you're welcome to pm me if you want anything to do with History and essays and the like. If you do decide to defer the year good luck with it, but either now or next year, do 3rd year, don't give up! :)

Your dont by any chance do endocrine and reproductive medicine either??Notes there would be much appreciated too:D

All I'll say now is... lawl, Foundations of Computing, lawl. I'm gonna fail it so bad! Stupid class and being on at 9am both Tuesday and Thursday.

Dude if you've done fcuk all now 3 weeks before your finals then it's probably best you take the rest of the year off and come back next year. The only thing i'm unsure of is if you do come back is how how your degree will be calculated, that could be just your 3rd year grade or your 2nd and 3rd year grades.

Whatever you do take it easy and do come back, you've spent a long time here and it would be a shame to give up at this stage, good luck

Thanks. I'm not going to be sitting any exams this year I at least have decided that much. My brain is unable and unwilling to learn any more at this point in time.

I appreciate your offer to help but I've made up my mind that I'm not going to be sitting any exams this year for the sake of my well-being and sanity. Just too much for me at this point. I'll be heading in to college this week to work out some kind of release.

Ideally I'll be able to do third year at a later stage but definitely not now. Thanks though.

He's a trinner. That should clear it up for you. ;)

I only have two days of college a week. Doesn't mean I have no work to do though. Between working over 40 hours for a few weeks (yeah, never doing THAT again), attending college, trying to get my work done, socialising etc. it makes it a pretty packed week.

OT no? Ok... not like you're our mod or anything... :p

Ah I go to my real classes, not great on the attendance for the horizons lark cause I don't care about it, kinda hate the whole principle cause for my course it is just extra work cause it's a professional qualification *mini rant, I know... sorry*

Time gained from skipping said classes is spent on uniony things for the most part

Really thought you liked being an assistant manager for Belfield FM and all that lark.

What does that have to do with liking the place? You can like what you're doing without liking the location. Besides, life is rarely cut and dried.

    Truer words were never spoken.

I love the extra-curricular sh*t I'm involved in now - BelfieldFM (despite its problems), the SU, the DoLC, random drinking sessions, etc - but that doesn't stop me from hating the college and all its inherent ineptitudes

Yeah thats true, life is most definitely not cut and dried.Just thought he might just like the place a bit as he has work and play in UCD itself.
