Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

...or am i just doing something wrong?

Whilst I didn't expect some comprable to a proper 3 MP camera, no matter what i do, every close up shot comes out looking like it was taken with a VGA Camera.

Anybody got any advice?

Thanks

Good lighting might help. Apart from that, get a "real" camera I suppose. It is somewhat disappointing though, especially considering the price of this particular phone, and the fact that it's marketed as a "cybershot" camera. You'd expect more really.

em... i dont have one myself but go to Http://www.howardforums.com in the SE section theres a stickied photos thread some of the ones in that are amazzy

Even my k750i takes great pictures

lighting helps use the flash if its dark for close ups make sure its in macro and adjut the white balance and brightness when taking pics

i assume you know how to use auto focus - press the camera button down slightly till the square on the screen goes green and you here a double beep then press down fully to take pic

Make sure that yo use the Macro mode for close ups and make sure that you allow it to auto-focus
I hope this helps you out

Interesting thread
I actually thought the k800 was very good after using my wifes phone
Just looked through a few of them on the PC now
Also took 1 with my DSC-70 cybershot (3.3MP cam) and there is a definite difference between them, but of course, one IS a phone after all :D
Click the thumbnails for full size pics. Both taken on full resolution

Maybe you're getting a bit too close

I'm very happy with it as a camera, for it's size i think it does great
Just wish the video resolution was a bit higher
Heres two macos I took

i reckon the camera in it is fantastic, only problem is the time taken to auto focus, but you can turn that to macro if you need

Also ensure that you have setup the camera to take pictures in Fine mode and not normal. This improves the picture quality immensely.
