Volkswagen Golf 2007 Laser blue discontinued???

Thinking about buying a new golf for delivery in January 07 - really want a 3dr comfortline laser blue - called into O learys lisarda garage in cork - they tell me that the laser blue is discontinued!! I'm going mad - was really looking for this type - think its the best colour - even though the 2007 brochure is showing it still - maybe these guys are wrong - anyone know any different?

Also - the brocheur says that the Detroit alloys can only be added to the GTI model - would there be any chance of adding these to a comfortline?

If you insist on buying a VW, try Newmarket Motors (Main VW Dealer also) on 029 601 00, http://www.newmarketmotors.ie - took the golf there recently for a service and to sort out the problem in the thread above and they seemed a professional outfit.

I wouldn't believe a word O'Learys Lissarda say - i reckon ring around a few other VW dealers with your query. You'll find their contact details on http://www.volkswagen.ie

The Golf is getting a few minor trim upgrades for the model year 2007 including air conditioning as standard. It is possible that this particular colour has been discontinued for 2007.

Ring around a few other dealers, make sure if they can get you that colour that you are not getting one of the last 2006 models which would not have air condition even on the Comfortline model.

Blackwater motors undercut Newmarket for my grandfather by 2k, even thouh he has been a loyal customer of Newmarket for many years. He was disgusted with them.

Which colour is the laser blue is it the dark navy blue or a lighter blue?

Having had little experience of VW dealers myself, it seems that they can be very hit and miss depending on whether there's a full moon or an r in the month.

Newcastlewest Autos, though not the most shiny, sparkly showroom outfit do good deals from what I've heard. (Gave a friend €4k for an 8yr old Astra with 120k on the clock against a new Bora 2 yrs ago)

Pierses in Tipp are supposed to be good too. Steer clear of Limerick unless you know how to sell ice to the Eskimos, sand to the Egyptions and Oil to the Arabs

Cheers for the advise - will definately check out a few different dealers tomorrow. Fingers crossed that the lazer blue model is still available - shoud be as it's on their brochure.

sounds like that dealer knows he cant get you a laser blue car, so he spins you a little line.......no they dont do that colour any more sir......

Its worth a ring to Al hayes motors in portumna, supposedly the best volkwagen deals in Ireland. He certainly doesnt charge for services like the dealers trying to pay back teh mortgage on their huge , fancy new showrooms.

I order an new MkV at the end of Nov'05 and was told Laser Blue had just been discontinued, went for Shadow Blue instead.

I wonder if it's worth the OP's time going to the North to get a few prices. Including the VRT, he may save a few quid...or not?

Is it not only the GTI thats getting air con as standard. The early mkv GTI's had a sunroof but they changed that for air con as standard.

your dealer is right - Laser blue has been long discontinued. Shadow blue is a darker shade, almost navy-blue. There's also another grey-blue called "Graphite Blue".

Nope, check out http://www.volkswagen.ie. All Golfs from 2007 will have manual air conditioning.

I'm going mad!! Turners cross motors has confirmed that the laser blue is discountinued!! Why oh why have they done this - for the first time ever - i decided to go about buying a brand new car - only to find out that VW are not doing it anymore - even though their 2007 brocheur and their website www.volkswagen.ie both have it as options - isn't this some form of false advertising???

Don't know what to do now - had my heart really set on the blue one - but mabe the navy one would be ok - or silver - or black although i've currently got a black polo so it wouldn't be too much of a difference. Back to the drawing board eh... (
