Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just thought I'd post here that your heroes, Team Boards.ie, grabbed a thoroughly convincing 4-0 win in their first ever competitive game today. After being set-up in August, and developing a good committed squad with a great sense of spirit, it was a great evening for all involved to get such a good win.

We played against an extremely strong wind in the first half, and had to defend resolutely for a good portion of it with our keeper making a host of wonderful saves, before scoring a great first goal. We held onto our lead until half-time, and with the wind in our backs in the second half we had the confidence that there was more in the game for us. Surely enough, we were 2-0 up with a great lofted finish from Jules (FrankGrimes) over the diminutive opposing keeper. Two soon became three after some great work by Simon (Gileadi) in the centre to allow Andy to finish calmly. The final goal was another excellent finish from Andy, who was set up by Mikie. The quality of goals, quality of battling and attitude of the entire side was a joy to behold (and I'm not just saying that)!

The opposition were by no means a poor team, but we played to our strengths, which also happened to hinder their play, and we reaped the rewards. What was also particularly pleasing, certainly from a personal point of view was that we kept a clean sheet. We rode our luck once or twice in the first half, and certainly have Bernard to thank for keeping us in it, but in the second half I felt they were extremely restricted and only had a couple of long-range efforts wide of the target. Also a big cheers to our manger Des (SeanSouth) for arriving early, leaving late and keeping us all on our toes, and for helping to organise the league, the money, the training etc...

    Roll on next week!
