Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Things to do in....Hamburg

Heading to Hamburg with my boyfriend for a weekend at the beginning of February (2nd - 5th).

I've never been, don't know anyone who has been and am wondering if you good people could advise on some things to check out while there.

We're flying into Lubeck (good old ryanair) and have been told that there is a bus for around €8 that coincides with the ryanair flights that heads into Hamburg city centre. So that's all cool..

So if you have any recommendations for pubs, restaurants, hotels, fun things to check out, they will all be very much appreciated.

definitely go for a walk along the Reeperbahn - for sheer seediness value (it's famous for it...;-)). Lots of pubs and a few concert halls along there, too.

Or try a boat tour along the "Speicherstadt" (Hamburg's old storage facilities - it's interesting!). Maybe a spot of shopping, hamburg has some nice shops, and it's defnitely cheaper than Ireland (well, what isn't...)

There's a famous zoo (Hagenbeck's Tierpark) should you run out of ideas...

And the best is the "Fischmarkt" on a Sunday morning after a night out - it's starts at 5 am, and it's a must-see/must-go!

So many things to do in Hamburg - I simply love that city!

What? What rightminded person would take a girlfriend to see the ugliest strip possibly in the whole of Germany? Yeah, famous so what, run by thugs and a great example of exploitative sex and drugs at an all time low.

Whatever turns you on? BTW why did you not suggest some interviewing for spot selling or have you not tried that yet. Finally some of the worse Irish bars in Germany are in Hamburg, some call it green but its an ageing cesspit with some good parts. Stay outside and Blankenese is superb.
