Wladimir Klitschko-unification

Wladimir Klitschko is aiming to unify the heavyweight division so he can consider himself a "real champion."

The giant Ukrainian knocked out Calvin Brock at Madison Square Garden on Saturday to successfully defend his IBF title for the first time.

Now the Olympic gold medallist is looking to move on and face a rival champion next time out as he looks to get his hands on all four major belts.

"I'm not interested in staying in the sport to just keep fighting," Klitschko said.

"I am interested in unifying the titles. I think the heavyweight division needs a real champion.

"I do not consider myself as a real champion. Only the guy who will unify the titles will be respected.

"My goal is to get unification, and my goal is to get my next fight as a unification fight - It doesn't matter with whom."

Klitschko was due to face Shannon Briggs in his first defence but a contractual dispute meant he went toe-to-toe with the previously unbeaten Brock.

Briggs is now the WBO champion - a belt previously held by Klitschko - after a stunning 12th round knockout of Sergei Liakhovich last weekend.

Russian Nikolai Valuev currently has the WBA title, while the WBC version is held by Oleg Maskaev.
