Sooo as some of you might know, one of your lovely mods (me) doesnt live in Ireland soo while he has tried his best to offer advice or help he has had a natural block in him actually being fully able to help.

but this changes next month when finally I return home (none the wiser) to live and breath in dublin.

And as such, I feel I owe alot of you more oppurtunity to take the hope and aspiration off the internet and out into the world.

But we'll start off small, how about some point in January or December we have a small social to discuss ideas have a few drinks and generally network (yes you can accuse me of ulterior motives.)

Kikilove enquired earlier this year about such a event, at the time I couldnt help, but I can now, and I hope to be much much more active in the coming weeks.

Among which I hope to open my arms more to other irish filmmaking websites and see if there exists a regular independent filmmaking meeting or if not create one and so on working this up into something then just an online board. In reality I should have done this from the beginning, but I dont believe many of you live in the UK. For that I apologise I have let some of you down as a mod.

Among the things I have already noted is that a number of users are underage (so the socialising drink will have to be at a reasonable hour, somewhere considered safe) and also a number of you wish to get such community events such as festivals and 24 hour filmmaking.

soo suggestions for a date, time and a location.

I suggest January for the month at least, as I would be spending most of december getting settled back in and seeing family.

Right so, lets hear your words?

Hey. I haven't posted on this board before, but if there was an offline aspect to it I would be quite interested.

January would be good, yes. I'm guessing it would have to be Dublin. Being underage myself, a "reasonable hour" would probably be the best thing for drinks. A weekend would be best, of course. 24 hour filmmaking would be great if interest was high enough.
