I am just looking into getting one of these .

Do you still have to registered a business name etc to purchase the relevant .ie .

Can you just get away with the 20 euro online registering of a business name with cro or whatever or do you need to set up a company to back it up etc.

Also what are the legalities of registering a business name that is already in use in europe and probably copyrighted in europe and subsequent purchasing of a domain name in ireland and registering of the business name.

It would be for a totally different business to the one in europe.

Anyone got any ideas on the subject or experiences ?

Not necessarily, but it's the easiest way of doing it

All you need is the RBN. Don't forget to print the signature page and send it in with the cheque to the CRO

A lot will depend on who holds the trademark in Europe. If they are proactively defending it their lawyers will pounce on you very quickly. I've seen it happen to clients in the past several times.
