Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

have you scanned for virus' or spyware? Do you have administrative privlidges?

    Go to control panel\administrative tools\services

look for the windows installer server and ensure its not disabled.

This is more of a Windows problem than a specific laptop problem.

try this http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm (scroll down to line 94)

    or

Go to Start/Run and type in: msiexec /unregister [click ok]

Then Start/Run and type in: msiexec /regserver [click ok]

Do you have admin rights ?

    Reboot at least

Go to http://update.microsoft.com , this should install windows installer 3.1 if you need it

if all else fails http://www.getpaint.net small but needs DotNet which if you don't already have is on the update site above.

    spyware ?

turn off the antivirus scanner during the install ?
