Bond "Casino Royale" Image

This is an interesting image used to promote the latest Bond movie: http://www.supanet.com/media/00/10/01/Bondcraig_430.jpg The gun barrel is probably digitally added later in the top left of the image, while the actors face remains, (relatively!) untouched, so keeps that realistic, rugged appearance.

I think it's a good example of digitally manipulating an image, but retaining it's natural feel, like it's never been touched. It's using the idea that we accept things closer to the camera will be "out of focus." Everything is at an angle, there are no straight lines. It's a very dramatic, composed, yet spontaneous image. It's a fresh approach to one of the most clichéd images ever.

That shot could easily be a regular photo. Narrow aperture, focus on his face, use classy lighting, snap.

Yeh, as Zillah said.. Although even though it's a simple enough picture, you know they still prolly photoshopped the hell out of it to make Dan Craig look perfect..
