    ok im looking to buy a controller keyboard with a built in sound card . i want to use it to record some music with cubase LE and reason 3 . i dont wanna spend too much but all advice is welcome .

    The only one I know about is the Novation XStation, but that'd probably set you back €300-400. Its mighty cool though, and it has a built in hardware synth. I'd suggest browsing the keyboards section at www.thomann.de to get an idea of whats available. Best of luck with it

    I have the 2 Octave version. Comes with USB audio interface (not built into keyboard admittedly). Well built and plays nicely.

    Would this definately by-pass my soundcard? i.e. will I have latency issues if my soundcard isn't up to scratch.

    I'm pretty sure it does bypass the soundcard itself but I just want to make sure!!!!

    Windows/OSX plus pretty much any audio application you use will let you select the drivers you want. Check if the product supplies ASIO drivers, if it does it should do the job grand.
