Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am no good at computers so be patient.
I have a netopia, broadband-giver-thing. It also allows for wireless. I have never used this function, as I only got a laptop this year. Whenever I try to use my hous's wireless network, I'm asked for some sort of code to use the network as it is security-protected. How do I get this code?

It's the routers serial number if you're using Eircom provided hardware.

You're in good company - none of the other Ministers have a clue about computers either!

    (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)

Connect to the Netopia's admin interface from a wired PC (which I assume you had before the laptop). The admin interface should be on http://192.168.1.254

Go into the Wireless menu, and set a new code there. Ideally, you should also set the router and your laptop to use WPA encryption instead of the default WEP encryption, which is an older and weaker encryption standard.

It is Eircom provided hardware but I entered every code on the thing and just got told:

The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters.

    EDIT: I love you Foxwood.

    Thanks Feyla
