Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If you had the option of taking one player from a rival team, who would you take (assuming no hindrances such as player loyalty, club willingness to sell & price, wages etc)?

For Arsenal, in order of table position:

Man Utd: Rooney. Arsenal's current strikers are struggling to form a partnership with Henry, and Rooney would be perfect.
Chelsea: Essien. Perfect partner for Fabregas. Cech, Robben and Drogba would also be very useful!
Portsmouth: erm... Campbell or Kanu now that they are rejuvenated. Maybe Fernandes.
Aston Villa: Barry would be a useful squad player to have around.
    Bolton: Anelka or possibly Nolan.
Everton: Cahill would be good backup for Fabregas.
Reading: um... struggling. Some good players, nobody that catches the eye though.
Wigan: Heskey or Kilbane. Ha ha. Nah, Valencia.
    Liverpool: Alonso.
Fulham: Lastuvka to replace Almunia or Poom.
    Man City: Micah Richards.
    Tottenham: Aaron Lennon.
Middlesbrough: Ray Parlour, 'cos he's a legend. Failing Razor, Woodgate.
    Blackburn: MGP. Great player.
West Ham: Either of the wantaway Argies would do. Reo-Coker maybe, but like Kevin Nolan and Tim Cahill, probably wouldn't compliment Cesc.
Newcastle: Given or Parker. Duff, Emre (Cesc backup) or even Luque wouldn't be unwelcome. Newcastle have a lot of quality players, if only they had a defence.
Sheffield United: Hao Haidong, because he has a cool name.
Watford: Danny ****tu, for the same reason as Hao Haidong.
Charlton: Darren Bent. Could flog him on to Tottenham at a premium after a season or two.

Just thought I'd point out to the three United fans (and anyone else following who makes the same mistake) that if you're copying and pasting my post, mine doesn't include Arsenal for obvious reasons... (although maybe that was the idea :p)

    For Liverpool
    Chelsea: John Terry
    Portsmouth: Gary O'Neil
Aston Villa: Gabriel Agbonlahor or Stilian Petrov
    Arsenal : Theo Wallcot
    Bolton: Jussi Jaaskeleninen
Everton: Tim Cahill (Hate him but for lack of players have to pick him)
    Reading: Kevin Doyle
    Wigan: Henri Camara
    Man Utd: Wayne Rooney
    Fulham: Liam Rosenior
Man City: Stephen Ireland (I think he is a brilliant player and very under-rated)
    Tottenham: Aaron Lennon
Middlesbrough: eh... Johnathan Woodgate or Stewart Downing
    Blackburn: Morton Gamst Pederson
    West Ham: Robert Green
Newcastle: Shay Given or Scott Parker
Sheffield United: eh.. Paddy Kenny or Phil Jagielka
    Watford: Ashely Young
Charlton:Andy Reid or Djimi Traore Haha yeah right

Seems very Irish but that is honestly who I would pick.

Arsenal: Tough between Henry and Fabregas. Might just lean towards Fab because of his age. (Although Henry isn't exactly a senior citizen either!)
Chelsea: Robben. Can't stand him, but I think he would run riot with Ronaldo. United would be the most hated team ever with the pair!
    Portsmouth: Fernandes.
    Aston Villa: Barry
    Bolton: Nolan.
    Everton: Cahill
    Reading: Doyle
    Wigan: Valencia.
    Liverpool: Alonso.
    Fulham: Jimmy Bullard
Man City: Micah Richards. One day could replace Neville.
    Tottenham: Aaron Lennon.
    Middlesbrough: Stewert Downing
    Blackburn: MGP.
West Ham: Reo-Coker. He hasn't been at his best this season, but still.
    Newcastle: Scott Parker
    Sheffield United: Rob Hulse
    Watford: Ashley Young
    Charlton: Darren Bent

    Arsenal: Henry or Gallas
    Portsmouth: Sol Campbell
    Aston Villa: Abongalor
Chelsea: Drogba (would be a great replacement for Shearer) or Terry
    Bolton: Anelka
    Everton: Cahill
    Reading: Doyle
    Wigan: Henri Camara
    Liverpool: Carragher
    Fulham: Boa Morte
Man City: Micah Richards. Could replace Carr straight away!
Man United : Ronaldo (we need a right winger to replace Solano)
    Tottenham: Aaron Lennon.
Middlesbrough: Woodgate (if he stays fit!)
    Blackburn: Benni McCarthy
West Ham: Dean Ashton (that boy is going to be a star!)
    Sheffield United: Rob Hulse

    For Man Utd

Chelsea: John Terry. The real deal, better player than Ferdinand.
Portsmouth: Arjen de Zeeuw (solid no-nonsense defender)
    Aston Villa: nobody (maybe Agbonlahor)
Arsenal : Henry all the way. Pure class. Alternatively Fabregas.
Bolton: Kevin Nolan. Wouldn't touch Anelka with a barge pole.
    Everton: Tim Cahill
    Reading: Kevin Doyle
    Wigan: nobody
Liverpool: Xabi Alonso. Better than the slightly overhyped Gerrard.
    Fulham: Luis Boa Morte
    Man City: Richard Dunne
    Tottenham: Aaron Lennon
Midboro: Stewart Downing (though he's overrated)
Blackburn: Maybe David Bentley. Or Savage to run round and kick people. Especially against Liverpool.
West Ham: Nigel Reo-Coker (if only Teddy was 10 yrs younger)
Newcastle: Shay Given. Best keeper in the premiership (Cech is also outstanding but has a far better defence in front of him)
    Sheff Utd: nobody
    Watford: nobody
    Charlton: Darren Bent maybe

    Everton: Cahill
    Reading: Doyle
    Wigan: Roberts
Liverpool: Gerrard (decent backup player if he gets his head right)
Fulham: Bullard (just think of the crack you'd have)
    Man City: Dunne
    Tottenham: Aaron Lennon
    Middlesbrough: Yakubu
    Blackburn: McCarthy
    West Ham: Reo-Coker
Newcastle: Given (Only one worth taking if I had to choose one(would make a good third keeper))
    Sheffield United: Nobody
    Watford: Nobody
    Charlton: Darren Bent
