The DECT ones are grand, I've used them a few times (the ones I used were made by One For All)

Got an e-mail from an AV installer last night and he said his subcontracted Sky installer told him the wireless extenders were fine for Sky Plus boxes but NOT for the HD boxes due to a glitch in the software and that Sky might or might not fix it. Anyone else experience this?

    regards,

    E.

I ordered mine with Electroplus on 4th December and still haven't even got a phone call. I rang them the week before Christmas and they said that it probably won't be installed before Christmas. Just had to find this thread as I forgot who the company name to phone them again.
I finally got through to Electroplus today. They said they gave my details to the technician before Christmas and he/she should have contacted me. They gave me their mobile number but I got no answer today.

Hi there, am thinkin of gettin this free sky+ E75 installation deal,

Can anyone advise me if you get multiroom you get the installation free
assuming you get 2 premium ch's, you dont have to pay the monthly sky+ recording facilities?

The multiroom sub is 12mth additional for a new subscriber AFAIK, but a comeback customer does that still apply? as i was wonderin that.
Also any word on it bein reduced from E15-5? from Jan.

This might be a silly question but if the sky+ is free (not inc. installation) why isnt it advertised anywhere else-TV

EDIT: I see if you join online you get this:Join Sky TV online today from just €21.50 a month and you’ll get a €15 credit on your Sky account, but i suppose it will take longer to process ?

Not really. Without a subscription it won't record. Just view FTA channels. (/me goes off muttering about the rip off).

    Hi,

I have full sky package at home but no phoneline (had to pay an installation fee to get it in originally).
Can I still get sky plaus without a phoneline does anyone know?
I don't mind paying the 150euro (well i do but hey)

i bought a box myself on adverts.ie, installed a quad lnb (on the dish), ran a second cable to the box and rang sky to pair my viewing card with the new box.

You can get a sky+ box for around 100, so save yourself a few quid and do it yourself. very easy

If I was to get the Sky+ box would it be possible to get another card so I can use the old box in another room (without paying the extra money for multi-room)? I just want the free channels, ie. the channels I'd still have if I cancelled my Sky subscription (FTA?).

yes, no problem.. you dont need a viewing card to view the free to air channels. you'll need to run a cable to your old box from your dish obviously .

How is that? If I've no viewing card in I just get a message telling me to put it back in.

You'd still need to pay the Sky+ subscription to use to recpording functions. Better off to buy a normal box or else pay for the multiroom, this gives you free Sky+ (ie. €15 each for + and MR but they waive one, least they did with mine).

You should only get that message for pay channels

Cheers. I didn't realise there were so few FTA channels. I thought the Irish channels would have been FTA. I might aswell pay the extra €15 for multi room so.

Remember, you HAVE to have a proper landline connected to both boxes 24/7 for the duration of your multiroom package.

Otherwise you will have to pay full subs for the second box.

Looking like free Sky+ WILL become a reality, from July 1st.

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=519987&page=4

Question is: will this apply to Ireland straight away also?
