Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The rumour is four/five more seasons. Why do I have the feeling it will end very weirdly like the X files or worse Twin Peaks, where we are all sitting around going WTF??? With no answers at all.I hate that.

i think it will end with a battle between the losties and the others. if anyone really believes that the 'others' are actually 'the good guys' they are in for another surprise twist if you were to ask me but then again who am I !!! i think the outside world will find the island and who is to say we wont have a series from the outside world trying to find this mystical island. with lost anything can happen so most of what i have just said has no basis.

They are finishing with a movie I hear, which isn't good because at least with the episodes it's on on the Tuesday night and the next day I can talk about it in school with my mates. But with the movie, I know I won't be the first to see it. :)

x-files was never confusing at the end.......just crap

Weren't they supposed to be aiming for 4 seasons and a movie? Obviously the money rolling in has changed things.

If it ends with a full frontal nudity shot of Kate I'll be 100% satisified...

oooh yeah. Jack dies to save them all and there's some big choice that one of them (Locke) has to make about whether to leave or stay - and some sort of heroic deed, and a big explosion killing the Others. And people get married....so many possibilities.....

Putting it down as a "Jacobs Ladder"type thing. They are all actually dead ,and this is a purgatory type place where they can all either atone for their sins individually or collectivelly.

I am pretty certain writers have ruled purgatory idea
and the end of season 2 and also episode 2 of season 3 pretty much rule it out as well

I think it will end like this.

They are all inside some sort of Virtual reality computer program; Maybe a Prison run program.... or something they all signed up to, to deal with certain issues in there personal life... and when they resolve there issues.... they die, but only in the Computer.... not in real life. It would explain alot of what has happened so far! ;)

Jack will be walking down the beach when his head explodes. Why? i don't know.
Kate will decide clothing is no longer needed.
Sawyer's vocabulary will become comprised solely of nicknames.
Charlie will get married to a life sized hypodermic needle.
    Claire will join Riverdance.
Jin will realise he actually had fluent English all along. He will join Jack in the head-explosion gang.
Sun, now free, will have an affair with Scott/Steve, and go eat some frogurt.
Sayid will begin to carve a mate for the giant foot. He will discover its true meaning when he realises how hard it is to carve a little toe.
Locke will devolve into some sort of primordial goop. He will make a pass at Claire, who will be annoyed and will poke him with a stick.
Desmond will foresee his death at the hands of Rousseau, and avoid it. What a happy conclusion.
Eko will finish his stick. It will be the basis for many new religions and cause world war 18.
Ben will realise he should have gone to SpecSavers.
Juliette will get facial surgery from Jack so it doesn't always look like she is smiling. Her new face will scare children.
Hurley will realise the numbers were just the dishes he had ordered from the local Chinese restaurant one night. He had fried rice, if you're interested.
Paolo and Nikki will......meh, who cares.

    Basically I don't have a clue.

    How will lost end?
Probably the same way in which it started, with much fanfare and publicity.
Will the ending tie together all the loose ends and "talked about aspects" of every show (you know the ones where theres a picture in the grass or a face in the smoke, or Locke winked twice,) or the various theories? Definetly not.
The writers have had the goalposts changed a number of time to draw out the show more and more.
Personally I believe it will have gone on far too long if its drawn out as much as it is predicted to.

I mean, they did the bang at the end of series 2.

i think it will end as it began, the survivors of oceanic 815 will become the new 'others' and will witness a plane crashing just as theirs did at the start.
i dont know why i think it will end this way but its the way i thought it would rite from the beginning, like locke, kate, and the people we know as the survivors are actually replacements for the others, brought to the island to replace the others that are getting fed up with their non-rewarding task of doing whatever it is that they are doing, and then ending with locke and co. getting fed up as well and seeing a plane with their replacements crash?

Its gonna end with a stupid ending about why it all happened and how it all happened, i love watching lost but they are takin the piss about makin people waitin to find out about things. In MY OPINION the last season was a dissapointment tbfh, they just gave everyone more things to think about. Im really drunk at the minute so i am trying to say that they are gonna keep bu****ittin people to keep them watchin until its over. Money Hunters tbh.

There will obviously come a point where people will say '**** this this is stupid' but I don't think that will be soon. Even the people who complain about how stupid Lost is still watch it! They say they're not going to watch it after a 'crap' episode but they're hooked! Plus there's die-hard fans who will watch Lost no matter what happens. Me, I'll probably watch it for the next 10, 20 seasons and then MAYBE stop if it gets stupid. :p

AND FOR THE LAST FECKIN TIME IT'S NOT PURGATORY!

You can milk just about anything with nipples.;)

Though really, I think that idea of the 'losties' becoming the new 'others' is pretty cool.

yah, like when will they explain the dudes in Russia/Artic/Cold Place ;)

ffs, its a great show, but i really really hope it goes somewhere good in the end, not just "and so....eh....Locke wakes up"

Ye know what annoyed me? How they made a point of showing Libby in the same mental hospital as Hurley, and then killed her off, making it completely irrelevant.

Sorry, that was OT....em.............the polar bear..eats the black fog monster....and the island turns into a disco.....and there is much rejoicing...yey!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

And giving the boat to Desmond too!
Why did they kill her off anyway when she seemed like she was gonna be a big piece of the puzzle?

I think I heard that Damien Linderof said that they have masterplan in place which will fully explain Libby's backstory but I can't remember where so hey may not be worth much.

Wasn't LOST originally made as a TV show version of "Survivor"? I mean the 2 seperate base camps, the merging of them, the fewer members of the second base eventually being removed after the merge (how many people are actually left from the tail section?) the various trials they have to undergo. The others could be explained as the mystery 3rd group of people which are introduced midseason. This being the case, I imagine the LOSTies being whittled down to only a hand full by the end, and only 1 person actually getting off the island (i.e. Mike will reappear at some point on the island)... the end... oh and Jacks head will explode ;)

Damn that Lucozade bint - she's brainwashed me.

It will end up like Alias running out of questions to ask and running out of answers.

Or like crossroads where Hurley wakes up in a shopping centre after falling asleep on the till, only to find out he moved to Hawii and the rest was a dream.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 30 as_seen_on

The only major reason I would stop watching it would be to save my tv from getting the remote thrown at it because of those damn annoying lucozade ads.

But one great thing about watching lost on RTÉ compared to E4 or Sky is that the ad times for RTE are dramatically shorter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,641 ✭✭✭✭Elmo

Look you have a choice either complain about the Lucozade Ads or remember the O2 adds. :shudder:

    WHY DO GUYS HAVE NIPPLES?!

During pregnancy, its not till a bit in that the x-chromosome asserts itself and the sex of the baby is finally determined, well it has been determined at conception but its not been made hugely obvious from a physical point of view. Nipples are formed before this point. Hence nipples on men.

Not really on topic but i thought you might like a genuine answer.
