Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Clinique Happy (nice and citrusy)
Jean Paul Gautier (very subtle smell, although I'd stay clear of the deodorant stick)
Armani Romance (a nice fragrance for everyday use)

Paul Smith has just released a new fragance called Story, i think I may pick some up tomorrow. It smells nice but is strong enough so unless you want want to be a step above lynx wearing pubesent teen's only wear a very small amount.

Whenever Pighead wears Ultraviolet For Men By Paco Rabane he magically turns into The Pied Piper.
(With chicks following me instead of rats though, obviously)

By the way, why did you put fragrance in inverted commas? Have I missed something? Is everyone referring to something odd/vile known as "Fragrance" in street slang?:(

No no, we're all talking about cologne/after shaves. I've no idea why they put fragrance in inverted commas though.

I like my natural one, some people would disagree.

I prefer to refer to the "flavour" it gets some funny looks, but people know what you mean. One thing I hate though is the way everyone sprays them all around the shop when you are buying E.D.T.'s and you get a really mixed up smell, USE THE FRAGRANCE CARDS to spray.

Found Joop very feminine myself wouldn't go back to it. Some girls seemed to love it others hated it there was no middle ground. Now I wear Armani Black code which is almost universally appreciated :D

If you could see me now I'm drooling...

I think Jean Paul Gautier will always be my favourite.

My personal favourite is Burberry Touch.

Christian Dior's Farenheit is good too.

Got a bottle of Aramis as a gift, I didn't really like it but it grew on me, it's fine for everyday at work.

I actually prefer the After Shave version. It's not oily like some aftershaves, and it develops better than the Eau de Toillette. I have the EDT as well, but I find it stays a little green and sharp, whereas the AS dries down to a woody, fern-y smell. Either versions p1ss all over alot of whats out now though.

What is the difference between aftershave & eau de toilette?

It is the type of question - I never got around to ever asking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,023 ✭✭✭il gatto

Basically, fragrances come in different strenght solutions. Weakest is cologne. After Shave is stronger, followed by Eau de Toillette, then Eau de Parfum. Strogest is pure perfume oil
