While this forum may be a unique meeting and discussion point for Irish musicians and producers, it doesn't offer a full range of features to attract musicians, e.g. hosting for audio files, FAQs/tutorials for musicians, links to free plugins etc. Therefore I suggest that links to such portals/communities can be posted here. I don't believe this would diminish the significance of this forum, in fact it might increase the amount of traffic here. Maybe this thread could be stickied if enough people post replies?

My own links would be catering a bit more for electronic (but not dance) musicians. Here are a few to get started:

http://www.em411.com: blogs, forums, events, mp3 hosting and much more for electronic musicians
http://www.kvraudio.com: *the* number one site for comprehensive listings of VST/AU/RTAS plugins and hosts. Essential for locating excellent free software. Also features a News section and extensive forums.
http://musicthing.blogspot.co.uk: fantastic blog catering for musicians, gear junkies and music techies alike. Loads of excellent music technology related YouTube videos.
http://www.rekkerd.org: hosts loads of free loops and VSTs (including my VST :D )
http://electro-music.com/forum: the URL says it all! A bit dry and intellectual, but worth getting involved in
