roughly about 55~60 i think the rebuys meant loads of chips were up for grabs i made sure our table went crazy with the rebuys early on by the break there were 4 lads on 40k+ at our table average being about 15-20k at the time.

scalps was a great idea too people kept buying back in so they wouldnt have to give up their scalp.

nope, I used up all my rebuys before the break!

First hand, 62o, raise 300, 2 callers, flop aqx checked to me, I ship it and inst-muck when called, he had q8o

72o on the button, two people all-in ahead of me....ship it!

qj ship it! called by aj and kq :(

call an all-in with a6, he had k2. k on flop.

56 flop 62x, i ship it, called by k2, k on the river.

Last hand before the break, push 103s called by 85 and 2s, 5 on the flop

    I had fun.

    Cheers Joe,

I'll be looking for people like yourself to run them all through January (for little or no pay - only joking).

Anyone interested in doing this, let me know. Just about every casino club in the country will be happy to help - I hope.

Should be grand though, I'll give Barry a ring in the morning.....Just need to get some proper publicity going for the event now. The support through word of mouth and boards has been brilliant but now its just a matter of telling every living soul about it.

    Nice one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,860 ✭✭✭ditpoker

anto is the bridesmaid of poker, he'll cash in as many tournaments as you like but he hasnt won a tourny since the 25+25 Vegas Nights game in churchtown way back in... oh it must have been as early as 1998... and i had 25% of him, and i finished 3rd so think i was the big winner on the night...

    Hi guys,

I posted out flyers to most of you today so just wanted to say thanks again for the support.

Its so close to me being able to tell you who the sponsor is that its not even funny.....It feels wierd though because now that its all confirmed and everything I hope that the tournament gets the 400 players that I think it will.....

Thanks to all that have pre-registered. I will be sending you all an email in the morning.

Keep an eye on www.pokerireland.ie for all the details.

Just type pokerireland.bebo.com into the address bar.
Look forward to the email, and the flyers. :)

    Ok,

At long last I can tell you the sponsor of the National Student Poker Championship 2007 is 888/Pacific Poker.com

To register for the event simply log onto www.pokerireland.ie and click on the 'NSPC 2007' tab at the top of the page.

    The whole idea behind this is that;
    (a) All student players are registered for the event well in advance of the date to allow us to get the maximum number of players involved.
    (b) 888/Pacific will add money to online accounts and pay for the running of the event itself.
    (c) All players that participate will get a professional WSOP style event for a buy-in of €65+€7reg and get to pit their wits against other students.

Registration is officially open, please register soon.

Any questions, post here or email me on the address below.

    Have fun.

is there a mistake in the intructions on pokerireland.com?
    # Deposit a minimum of $92 Dollars (€72 Euro approx) into your new 888/Pacific Poker account.
    # Register into the Irish National Student Poker Championship 2007 on the 888/Pacific poker site – Total cost: $72.

it says its $72 and then says that again further down... so is it €72 or $72?

The idea is that you pay $72 into the tournament and are left with $20 balance.
That $72 will be converted into €72 on the day of the tournament and paid back into winning accounts at that rate.

Hope that makes sense, I know its long-winded but its basically a "Dollar for Euro Match-Up Bonus"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

So basically its going to now be a €53 buy in but they add on the extra nineteen euro.

Its a nice deal alright, however I have heard nothing good about their poker site, poor software and high rake makes jack a dull boy. And tournement fees dont count towards rakeback either. :(
Ah well it looks like it will be a one time deposit and hopefully withdrawel for me.

Forgot to add: WP Ste its definately a great deal for the players.

Cant wait for this tourney now, its gonna be historic, WSOP style tourney for 50quid, I hope there's gonna be security at the door to stop the poker elders that frequent this site from trying to sneak in and play. :D

I'll pass on your thoughts to the people I've been talking to, I think they're trying to build the number of players they have throughout Europe.

Sounds great. Are the people who emailed you being kept a place, or is it just the first 400 to set up an 888 account?

Anyone that emailed me will be guaranteed a place up to the 1st January but everyone should be fine so long as they register before say Jan 8th.

If anyone is having a problem I will be helping all those that emailed before I do anything else.
It was down to all the pre-registrations that we were able to get the sponsorship.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,902 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

    Great work Ste,
Ill get the posters up before the christmas break if I can. At least for the exams. Great news on the sponsor. I'll get that sorted soon. I might even grow to like the site. Watched the 888 womens championship last night, was different, tight, sensible and cautious.

I hope to be able to answer all questions about this for Bolton street students, and my only questions is
Can people register with cash on the Day?? How will their payout work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,771 ✭✭✭carfax

    Mellor wrote:

    Cheers dude,

    Thanks for all the help.

The answer at this stage has to be no, players can't pay with cash on the day....
[This however is the official answer as it makes my job a lot easier as regards knowing how many dealers, tables etc. are needed. The probably true (and unofficial answer) is yes players will most likely be able to pay with cash on the day but we haven't worked out exactly how we are going to do this yet.]......

Short answer; Players must lodge their entry fee into their 888/Pacific accounts and register through the site - Its listed under multi-table tournaments.....No cash payments on the day.

All payouts will be made into online accounts.....From there, players can do as they please with their winnings.
