Saw one of these today. not a particualrly pretty thing!
The saloon version of the Accent isn't all that bad looking, in a kind of inoffensive Korean way!

I was trying to figure out what the rear end looked like, initially I thought the 95-ish model Honda Civic hatchback from the side.

anyhoo, standard equipment looks promising, 16" alloys, fogs, cd, remote locking, should be around €17k

EDIT, just remembered what it actually looks like, It's the Daewoo Nexia! (rehashed Opel Kadett)

Is that not a Santa Fe with different headlights?

Looks a bit like the Lexus RX300 at the front to me. The new Santa Fe looks really nice actually and kind of has an upmarket look about it.

Incidently Hyundai and Kia now share platforms, the Accent and Rio being the same car.

Santa Fe nice to drive too. Commercial version out as well with 2WD and 4WD the same price.

Doesn't look that bad to me. Certainly beats the crap out of the old model.

Aah now! That honestly would not have been difficult.

Always thought the of old model as the blind man's BMW Compact

I think it looks more like a Rover 200/25 before the factory went bust.
There also appears to be hints of Opel Corsa about it.

The Hyundai Accent is great in the USA.
With dirt cheap prices and really long warranties the cars make good economic sense.

In Ireland though they always price them to be slightly cheaper than a comparable Ford or Toyota and at those sort prices only an eejit would buy one new.
the current list price of the base model Accent in the US is €7941(Euros) including 5 year warranty and 120,000 mile powertrain warranty; that is cheap motoring even before you negotiate a discount. the base model over there has a 1.6 litre 110bhp engine.
See autos section of www.msn.com for more.
