Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dead Computer?

Long story short, my bro turned off the antivirus software on the home desktop (dell dimension 5000 for our collective sins) + downloaded an executable file which basically riddled the computer with trojans.

I ran AVG a few times, then created a new username, moved all the files that needed to be kept (all of which seem to be fine) to it and deleted all the old usernames. I got + ran Spybot + ad-aware + ran AVG a number of times. Oh I tried to run a system restore but to no avail too.

Now the internet connection seems to be gone + basically is the only option left to save the files on discs + format the hard drive.

    Any help much appreciated ;)

Did you run the AV scans in safe mode? Apart from that I can't think of much else to do but to go ahead and reinstall and thump your bruvah. :)

No, but I ran full computer scans, which sometimes caused it to crash but ran sucessfully a few times too... ah might use it as a good reason to upgrade
