Hard to imagine a better rig than that right there! Very nice.

Is the mag different on that or an aftermarket.

Had the same rifle in 30-06 and it had a floor plate.

It is genuine Sauer 5 shot magazine, would fit all 202s. Obviously by caliber

Hi Cass . What height mounts on the 17. I will have the same rig hopefully next(9th) week. Reason im asking is i read somewhere there is high bolt lift and scope might have to be mounted higher. Thanks.

They are high mounts fitted to a picatinny rail (which gives it an extra bit of height).

The bolt lift is high so i'd imagine with a lower set of rings the bolt would either be touching the scope or make cycling an issue.

Looks well on it infairnes to you. And the good turn around makes it much sweeter.

Will you use the sun shade on it. I have one never used it yet. They fairly extend the scope looks class doe.

It depends really, during the winter I'll probably use the lens covers to keep the lens dry and then during the summer if im going for a stroll late in the evening I might use it for when the sun is low in the sky. Depends if the scope mounted torch I get reflects off the mod or not too.

Got my rifle back from Dom after a re-barrel last week. Mounted a Hawke Sidewinder that I bought this week and that means it's time for some fun :D
I'm very happy with the work Dom did. He is very efficient and professional. He really has a passion for what he is doing and is a shooting/hunting man at heart. I would have no problem recommending him to anyone.

I got him to stick on a Savage FTR barrel I had here from a previous project and cut it to 22".

    Details:
    Remmy 700 Blueprinted Action
Savage FTR Barrel Cut To 22" & Threaded In M18x1
    Jewel Trigger
    PSE Composites E-Tac Stock
    Warne 20 MOA Rail
    Hawke Sidewinder 6-24x50
    Nightforce Mounts
    Harris 9-13 Swivel Bipod

    IMG_2679_zps6faf0aa3.jpg

Anything I put through it will put 3 shots touching to 1/2" at 100 yards. It definitely can shoot but with me not shooting a centrefire rifle in 10 months apart from 2 shots from Cass's .243 I'm not doing it justice. The wind was terrible today so didn't bother trying to group at 300.

    Remington 168gr Match:

    DSC_0183_zpsa5109a13.jpg

I'm very happy to have her up and running again after 10 months in the safe. Now all I have to do is wait from the deer licence to come in the post :)

Very tasty work, and great rifle.

Having fired it myself the rifle is surprisingly light, coming in around the 9 lb mark (less than my Remmy), very very comfortable to shoot (you have such a feeling of control and stability it's unbelievable) and a little tack driver. So carrying for a day would not be a problem. Also, as Dev said, it grouped anything fed to her which is very re-assuring from a "which ammo do i go with" point of view.

I can see plenty of deer in your future and maybe even some surprising results in 600 yard comps.

Got 6xc rebarreled into 308 for bit of deer and mid range targets. Fergal White put on a Lothar Walther and finished it to 22". I dropped it into old aics I had and put Burris black diamond 8-32x50 on it. Should have ase mod this week for it.
    vj5qRW1.jpg?1
Went down the bog y day to give it quick zero at 100yards. Hornady 150gr soft point was one ragged hole at 100. Said id try mag of 155gr hps see what it was like.
    XlOK869.jpg?1
So off bipod with hunting jacket as rear rest and with 12-15mph wind this is 5 shot group I got. It would have been tighter group but bottom shot i pulled slightly. Am more than happy with it though and looking forward to couple stalks now

Due to work and other duties I hadn't been out for a shot in weeks.
So after a short wait for a few parts it was time to check zero and give a quick clean. Someday I'll get a proper camera but for now the phone may do:o
First up, DCR custom .204, PSE Etac, NF 5.5-22x56. Surgical if I do my part.
    jchk.jpg

Next, Savage MkII .22LR, LH thumbhole, NF 5.5-22x50. Compact walk around rifle.

Lastly, Air Arms ProSport .22, GinB LH thumbhole, Hawke Eclipse 4-12x40. Whoever thought an air rifle could be so much fun.

Santa got to my house early got myself a new victory 6-24x72 ,comparing it to my Z6i 5-30x50 HD in field conditions will be interesting,I personally am a very big Swaro fan but a couple weeks ago got another Victory HT Series & really was impressed.Differences on both scopes are very obvious the Zeiss has a lot to prove in the field anyway reports to follow without all the manufacturers hot air or scientific equations

Not yet have not had a chance, bit of time towards end of month for both.
What little use I had with the Zeiss it is a very impressive optic in low light at low mag.Its like turning on a light. Definitely brighter than the Swaro , it is truly amazing .

Lieutenant-General Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov - RIP

While not a precision rifle, this Bulgarian will do 1.25 " for the first 3 shots at 100yd if I hold the dot steady, and easily keep 2MOA for more. The 55gr 5.45x39 Wolf SP sporting ammo is surprizingly accurate. Everyone who tries it remarks on how smooth the action functions. A real joy to shoot and does just fine for coyotes and vermin on the ranch at mid range.
