Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi,
i have a dell inspiron 8500. my problem is the battery is not charging, i have tried a 2nd battery with it and this will not charge either. the laptop will
only power up from the mains.
any suggestions what it could be? do i need a new a/c adapter
or would it be a fault with the laptop itself.

    thanks for any info

It could be a problem with the power board or DC inlet or,as you said, the AC adaptor- difficult to say.
Borrow another adaptor and eliminate that.

Try the battery recalibration feature in the BIOS (if there is on, pretty sure there is) if you find the AC adaptor is not the issue.
