Anyone seen this? Its a mockumentary comedy based in a Canadian trailer park. Absolutely hilarious, quality stuff. Here's a pretty good YouTube clip:

Yes. A film has been made. Not watched it yet though. Perhaps this weekend.
You can buy it here on Region 1 DVD.

Films not great, its pretty much a rehash of stuff done in the tv series

yeah, it's hilarious. because it's on 6 I don't see it much. I'm only watching 6 if I'm flicking through the channels cos there's nothing else on. I have 6 tuned in at the end of my list of channels RTE1=1 RTE2=2 etc etc so I don't go past where 6 is tuned in. It has carp programmes anyway.

What's the significance of the fella who has a drink constantly in his hand? Is there something more than that he's constantly drinking?

    love it.

nothing significant really he just likes a drink
the film is dissapointing not near as funny as the series.

series 7 seems short only 5 eps?

just got the book during the week only available in Canada

How does the original '98 movie compare to the series? I've tried to watch it but haven't gotten far - primarily though to sound sync. issues on my "tape". Is it a good taste of things to come or is the main series much better?

It's a good start but the series is much better

Never saw the original B&W movie, but i've seen series 1-6, the movie and the first 3 episodes of the current season. It's a quality show. Each episode is enjoyable independently, but they plan out each series very well and if you re-watch a season in one sitting you can spot little clues they dropped in along the way.
The film was made so that non fans of the show could watch it too, and so it did rehash some material, but it's quite different in the way it was shot and it doesn't really match up the tv show on a number of plot points.

Oh and season 7 will have 10 episodes not 5.

seek it out if your a fan you'll love it
glad season 7 had 10 ps not 5
    5 seemed too short
