Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

roll back for ubuntu

    is there anyway to wipe ubuntu back to install state, think i messed it up a tad setting up compviz/XGL.

    god i done that myself last night whilst trying xgl, i failed miserably.

    luckily enough i had only a fresh install and just went for the 10 minutes reinstall option.

    do you have many files that you need saved, as the above may be an option as the installation takes like 10 minutes.

    na not really. i had the xgl/compviz all working sweet before. automatix is screwed too, think the nvidia drivers it installs are causing the issue for me

    I had exactly the same issue with ubuntu. The xserver did not want to start as I tried out a new log in screen and for some reason this screwed the complete xserver.
    I was lucky as this was before I configured the complete system with multimedia codecs etc.
    So I wiped the complete partition with Knopppix (great distro), but not touching my XP and Suse 10.1 at the same time, installed ubuntu again and since then I must say it is the best distro I have ever used.

    Another good way of setting a complete partition to absolute 0 is http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ which allows you even to get rid of the XP left overs.
