i was just wondering if anyone could tell me what "gun" means in relation to this blacklight: http://www.thomann.de/ie/stairville_uv125_gun_uv_strahler.htm

does this mean it flashes or is DMX controllable or is like a spot light? or is it just a way of saying its a bulb rather than a flouresent tube, like this: http://www.thomann.de/ie/dts_uv-strahler.htm

to light a large space, which would be most effective? obviously, with the tube type i know it'll take more than one.
also when, with the first one they say "E27 socket" what do they mean? does it come with the plug fitted?

i dont know too much about electrics, but i just bought a tube type of blacklight and fitting in town today, and it already seems to have broken, i don't know if thats because i fitted the wrong cable and plug, or because the wiring in building was dodgy, or if the bulb went because i moved it (gently enough though, when it was switched off).. so if i can avoid doing the same again it would save me a lot of money and time and nerves (which i don't have much of anymore)

    thanks

    hey,

i got this sorted in the end, it turned out the wires weren't screwed in tight enough. it still works fine. i got it in michael garry's on bolton street. as far as i know the biggest uv tube they have is about 2 foot long. a friend of mine has a 4 foot one though, i'm not sure where she got it.

i bought this light http://www.thomann.de/ie/ultralite_uluv400.htm in the end, because i needed to light a large surface for a project i was doing. i'm finished with it now, and wondering whether to hold on to it or sell it. if you'd like to buy it we could sort something out!
