Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I installed Office 2003 on my Dell P4. Word, etc. work fine but when I try to open Outlook I get the following pop ups;

    'Configuring Outlook Accounts'
    'Creating Welcome Message'

'The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server in unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.'

    (I Click OK)

    Box appears:

Microsoft Exchange server: (it has entered mail.xxxx.ie)
    Mailbox: (it has entered mary)

    (Click OK)

'Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The file C:\Documents and Settings\Louise\Local Settings\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost in not an offline folder file.'

    Outlook then closes

When I try to start Outlook again it offers to start in safe mode but this doesn't make a difference.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and updated to no effect
    Outlook Express works fine,
    any ideas ?????

do you work for the Irish Institute of Credit management?
if not id be asking why you have one of their laptops....

anyway, right click on the outlook icon on your desktop or open "mail" in the control panel.
delete any accounts that are there (assuming its yout laptop etc) and then when you open outlook it will ask for your new account settings

The outlook profile you are using is trying to use an offline file from an exchange server. Do you connect to an exchange server ?

you may need to setup a new profile - in control panel , mail look for the setting that says ASK which profile to use, the next time you start outlook you may see other profiles or you can add a new one for internet email ( only if you will never use exchange or LDAP servers ) or coporate and then don't tick the exchange button later on
