http://motortrader.ie/

Just got a call from a very plesent representative from motortrader.ie
"Want to advertise with us fo €80 we put it in 8 newspapers etc etc"
But what a terrible website.
Has it been there very long?

No search facility! 1 picture allowed. while it will get a lot of exposure in newspapers i just got bored looking through the website. Trying to find your ideal car is just not possible

Look on the bright side. At least it wasn't one of the UK based cold calling groups who will ring you every day claiming to have a buyer waiting for your car until you give in.

I hate flash!!!!!
Looking at some of the ads they are not correct
e.g. the M3 coupe is a 2L (never heard of this!) and doesn't have an M3 bodyshell!

yeah its pretty ****e all right, i wouldn't be using it to look for anything, you can't even narrow the search down to a model, just to a manufacturer.

Am pretty certain thats a 320is - probably had no 320is in their system and plopped it in as an M3 - its a closer match than a 320i.

Crappy site alright though.

I was thinking it was a 320is but given the site would you go to the effort of advertising something that it wasn't?

Blaa Blaa Blaa

I just took a look at your own site, I'll say no more.

I just received a .5million tender to rewrite http://www.motortrader.ie

So what out you so call programmers or whatever you think you specialise in.

<?php
$bloggers = "On this subject";
echo $bloggers, "taking S**t";
?>

Come back when you earn the right to talk about websites

It's:
echo $bloggers . "taking S**t";

Come back to us when you learn to write code. (And how to post on web forums...)

Apparently they have a 1.4 laguna. Is every car ontheir site wrong?
Was the clio ever available in a 1.6? Not to my knowledge.
Anyone want a 99 Toyota Lexus? Is that some sort of cut and shut?:)

1. You don't need to be a programmer or web developer to critique a website. Its plain to see when you compare motortrader.ie to its competitors that it is inferior.

2. This is a forum, not a blog.

THEY are fecking harassers! - just tell them to go and fornicate themselves and hang up the phone, works for me!

Motortrader rang me up around september, offering to advertise my car for free - they had only started up and were looking for cars for they're site. €80 is a bit steep though - carzone.ie is a far better choice, 1 payment and you can list your car for as long as necessary.

Have to say this site is very poorly made, agree that carzone is much much better.

I have to say that is one of the most tedious websites I've ever had the misfortune to browse through. What's the deal with having to go through every single car on each category to see what's for sale there, absolutely terrible, I know I for one won't be going back there unless its laid out like carzone.ie or similar. Considering the amount of time I and other car dealers spend looking for cars it would be in the websites owners interest to make it user friendly.

Their not even in model order, if you choose toyota the first car could be a corrolla, then a yaris, another corolla, avensis etc etc etc

As regards motortrader.ie I can only say that I placed an ad with them and sold my car, it does work, but I do see everybodys point about search menus. They recently posted on their site that its getting upgraded. I don't think we should knock an Irish Company though because all of the other sites people quoted are from the UK, nothing against the UK, but they seem to own everything over here now even cbg.ie well half anyway. Autotrader own carzone and the Buy & Sell are owned by the Star etc..

Anyway you'll all seem to have made up yer minds

In my experience they work even though there are a little expensive
