Steel Beasts Professional Personal Edition, PC, released to the public March or April of this year.

    Online review at tanksim.com:

Tank simulator, of sufficient accuracy that it is used by the militaries of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Spain, Netherlands, Australia, Kiwiland, Finland, Canada, and a few other countries who have not been publicly identified.

    Couple of youtubes:

    Reasons:
    1) Not only is it accurate enough to be used for gunnery and crew-level training, it's also used for company level tactical training. Extremely varied sim.
    2) Development is pushed by the military customers: As a military asks for something, it becomes available to the private consumer. About two months ago, the Swedish update became available for free, the Swedes paid nearly a half-million-dollars for it as I understand. Here's some of what they paid for.

    3) Software protection. No Starforce, no un-copiable CDs, no messing around with code numbers. Just plug in a dongle and go.
    4) Voted 'People's Choice' in the Serious Games Challenge at I/ITSEC this month. (Inter-service/Industry Simulator Exposition and Conference).

Believe me, this is a hands-down, no brainer.

    NTM
