    Company Of Heroes (the best of the year!)

    Medieval 2 (a far second, great new campaign features, poor improvements to battles.)

    Heroes of Annihilated Empires. Superb game, but suffered from a very low profile release.

    Are you allowed expansion packs? Because the Warlords expansion for Civ4 was superb.
