Hey, does anybody know what type of damage this would cause and what it could be, and what type of costs it could incurr???

...basically my friends e36 beemer, whilst taking a corner it understeered (yes thats right, due to wet leaves on the road) into a kerb at about 20ish mph , it resulted in the front right wheel being bent/pushed back against the wheel arch and the steering wheel pulling towards the right when moving forwards , any ideas?? thanks ..

Similar happend me on ice but same speed. Needed new wheel, tyre, driveshaft, and a few other bits and bobs. The wheel bearing went later and I suspect this was caused by the impact too.

Depends what he's broken. Your wheel comprises of about 6 or 7 different parts which attach to other parts ....etc.

Unlikely, but for all you know he may have damaged the chassis which means a huge jump in cost.

I myself was thinking wishbone was bent, had a quick look undearneath it last night , everything seems in place.

Squibbs , how much did it cost you to get it sorted??

Don't know much about BMW's but do they use a double wishbone system? As in 2 wishbones per wheel, one should be down the bottom, the other up top near where the shocks connect to the chassis.

    Cost about 2K
