Medical Card entitlements

A friend of mine is on disability benefit and recently got his medical card. HE would like to know what checks beside his GP can use the card for? Can it be used for the dentist? TO get your eyes tested? How do you go about using the card for these services, any form that has to be filled in ?

Not sure about the eyes, but the dentist, yes, but not all dentists will accept a medical card.

I had physiotherapy on the medical card, but I had to be referred by my doctor

You can get chiropody and dentist and GP. You can also get your eyes tested on the medical card, and can also get some money back on any new glasses you may require.

www.disability.ie has a very comprehensive rang of information on medical cards, i find this site very useful.
