Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Couldn't find any more relevent forum. Computer seems riddled with pop-ups or spy ware or something. McAfee is out of date and I can't afford to renew it. Computer runs very slow and when online repeatedly opens windows advertising all kinds of crap. These aren't coming from the webpages, they open even if explorer is closed. When I look at the task manager theres project 1 and 2, and loads of suspicious looking crap in the processes, exe files.

Are there any easy solutions or free to download softwear to search and remove this stuff?

For Anti-virus download AVG or Anti-Vir, both have free editions and work well.
For Anti-spyware/malware download AVG Anti-spyware, Ad-aware, Spybot-Search and Destroy or Windows Defender. Those are free too (some limitions in some of the ones mentioned)

You can also try removing them manually by preventing any suspicious looking apps from starting up with Windows. In the Run dialog box, type msconfig and press enter. Then goto the startup tab and uncheck the suspicious apps. Also, note their names down. Reboot your pc. Now check your process list. If none of those unchecked apps are there, then all you gotta do now is search for their exe files and delete them and your problem is solved. Otherwise, you might have to install another copy of Windows and try deleting these malicious files from the other Windows. In any case, good luck!

If your using msconfig and your unsure of what to tick use this http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_pages/start_ups.exe

Anything your unsure of in msconfig you can check against this list, it'll give you more info on the file name, very useful app, been using it for years :)
