Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Me versus wireless

This is going to sound a little dumb: We just got broadband in my house and I want to use the wireless option for my laptop, but can't figure out how to do it. I'm pretty sure that there's a wireless card built into the laptop so it shouldn't be that hard but I just don't know how to do it!

Can anyone help? I've tried a few different websites but no luck. Any help/info would be much appreciated

Mods: Hope this is the right forum?

Did you get a wireless router with your package? Who's the broadband with?

To be honest, there isn't much point in proceeding if you aren't even sure there is a wireless card on the laptop.

What make model is it? How old is it? What have you got in Start-> Settings->Network Connections?

Have you got Service Pack 2 installed (is there a security centre in Control Panel). If so then you should have a wireless icon in the taskbar in the bottom right of your screen. Double click it and search for a WiFi network and then tell it to automatically connect to it when it is in range and you should be done. Passwords may be required etc...

You might also have to look for a keyboard shortcut on your laptop to turn on your wireless. On my Dell, it is Fn and F2.
