3rd Annual Goal Christmas Mile at Malahide Castle will take place on Christmas Day at 11am, 2009.

Over the past two years we have raised over €12,000.00 for this worthy charity and this year we are hoping to beat our record, set last year at €7,500.00.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the event, it is a charity walk on Christmas morning around a pre-set one mile course meeting at the Main Car Park, Back Road, Malahide.

This event is open to everyone from the committed runner to the Sunday afternoon walker so don't be shy.

    Bring the kids, grandkids etc.

If you are interested in taking a sponsorship card, perhaps for your workmates, class mates or family, please get in touch.

Further information is available at www.alanfarrell.ie or www.goal.ie

    Thank you.

Just topping this folks. Hope some of you can make it.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the 3rd Annual Goal Mile at Malahide Castle on Christmas day.

One person mentioned seeing a note on Boards.ie which I was delighted to hear.

Although I have not fully counted the money, somewhere between €4-5k was raised on the day and a further €600 from other sources before the event.

We had just over 150 on the very crisp morning, just beating last years attendance.

You can still donate at www.goal.ie

On behalf of Goal, thank you so much.

    Hello

We are a group in Swords that are creating a Community Garden within our local area.

The Broadmeadow Community Garden is located within Broadmeadow Linear Park, Swords. The park is opposite Ashton Rise just minutes from Applewood Village.

Fingal Co Co have provided an area of the park for use as a communal growing space for local residents, schools and groups.

The perimeter fence was built today, and a tree planting day is scheduled for Sat 12 March. Subsequently plots will be built for members this year.

Residents in the local area can sign up for a plot, half a plot, or just membership of the community garden.
