But I'm clueless when it comes to all of this....we recently got Irish Broadband in our apartment. It's connected from the phoneline to the laptop. But I'm considering getting a laptop of my own so what I want to know is can I use Broadband on that straight away or do I have to get a new box or one of those ones you plug in (Sorry! I did say I was clueless)...is it a big deal or should I get someone from Irish Broadband to set up a new line for me? Thanks for any info.

get a cable router ( not and adsl router ) and connect your computers to the router, and connect the router to the IBB modem

Thanks...is the IBB modem the box that's connected from the phoneline to the computer? Tried emailing Irish Broadband last week but no reply yet. Where can I get one of these cable routers? And how much roughly do they cost? Thanks.

    And for WiFi too

Make sure it is a model WITHOUT ADSL/RJ11 and WITH WAN Ethernet RJ45

€45 to €160 depending how fancy.

Why is your Irish Broadband box connected to a phoneline?

    Maybe IBB resell DSL now?
