Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How do i boost the signal from a wireless router? I want to get a good signal in the attic, the router is on the bottom floor.
    Any help would be appreciated

    What make/model?
Turn off power-saving on the router and clients. Perhaps change the firmware (Only an option with a few routers).
Use a deflector* , or directional antenna...

(*cheapest, quick way for now: cardboard, cover in tinfoil, put on top of router/antenna ... Google)

    You have three options:

    1) Move the router; routers generally have little omni-directional antennas. These ahve a horizontal radiation pattern that could be compared to a donut-shape. Hence there would be very little reception in a vertical "pane".

    2) Use an external antenna together with your router. Post what type of hardware you have and I'll give you some pointers.

    3) Buy a different (better) router...

I have a Netgear WGR214 and I get around 90% signal in the attic with the router on the bottom floor. No issues with it ever!
