Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Seems to have calmed down a little in Carlow town now no rain and slack winds, was pretty rough earlier, shalt be the end of it though I imagine :(

    Pressure has stopped falling and rain has just about stopped. Temp is now falling after peaking above 12C

    a guy who seems to know his stuff is saying that ireland is temporarily experiencing a lull in winds but he says it will strengthen again soon as squalls cross the country and meanwhile in south england they think it could get as bad as the famous 87 event because such high winds are rarely experienced down there so damage will easily occur. see the bottom of this page:

    The storm was said to be worse when the wind changes to a westerly direction, read that on a site somewhere. We must be in the thick of it now then, but it will calm again during the night/morning before it picks up strength again in the afternoon, (sunday).

    well it was feckin ferocious in dublin city centre last night. at around 3-3.30 am and earlier at 12.30ish. If it was that bad in the city can only imagine the countryside and coast. nuttin on rte about it though anyhoo

    M1 bouy reporting 76mph gusts...

    Expect the worst to cross the country between 10am and 6pm today.

    winds are very strong here now.Accompanied by driving rain. This is as bas as I have seen a storm in a long time.
