Just ordered one of these on-line and was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to use the Sky epg on with a Freesat card (or sub card for that matter too) on it?

I've got a 160gb hdd for it and would like to be able to add a series link to record, for example Torchwood on BBC every Sunday, can this be done?

    No.
It's only just about possible to use FTV card and payTV card behaves badly needing refreshed in real digibox.

BBC doesn't use/need the card for EPG on Sky. The EPG system is kind of separate to NDS videoguard encryption. It is the horrible to work with C APIs of "Open TV" a proprietary system from Thomson. Sky even use their own version of it. It only works on a Sky Digibox.

There are other EPG services (satellite and broadband) that can work with Dreambox. You can even use Digiguide on Windows (Or maybe Wine?) and have it automatically send message to Dreambox via LAN to record etc.

www.tvtv.co.uk works with Reelbox, so it may work with Dreambox,

It is far from " just about possible" to use the ftv card in a dreambox, it works perfect in most emus available. Any occasional freezing is easily fixed by overclocking the card. The paytv card works fine using ccam or newCS as the emulator/card reader. No need to be putting it back in the digibox according to numerous reports.

As for the epg have a read of this thread.

Thanks lads, was hoping adding series links would be easier. Using a pc app to do it based on an internet feed unfortunately isn't an option as always on broadband isn't possible here.

You can update PC Digiguide once a week. It works fine without Broadband.

use the web interface, and you can set it to record at a certain time each week (just set it a few minutes early and few minutes after just to make sure you dont miss it, but if it changes time completely then you'll have to add it again)

I have it recording a program each week, and it works fine

........stupid me, sure u can do that from the timer on the dreambox aswell ( the recurring timer option )
