I was just wondering if the shops in Henry St are opening everyday late ie Monday to Friday until 8 or 9. I would like to do some shopping tonight but i think as Ireland is backwards nothing will be open past 6.

its quite stupid really most people who earn money work when the shops are open and are off when the shops shut. Its 3 weeks until xmas why cant they open late on the run up to xmas. Its like they dont want my money. I when in last night and had to run around the shops could not just browse tried to go to kfc in jervis but it closed at 6pm. I lived in Canada last year all the stores in the city open until 10 6 days a week but in ireland we are in the dark ages.

the shops usually do open late during the week in the run up to Xmas...but for some reason its not happening this year (most are only opening till 6.30 or 7 ..as of last nite anyhow)

Gillo this is a ridiculous comment, extended opeing hours creates jobs. Are should all stores close at 6pm becuase as you say shop staff have a life.

true...does that mean that people who work in pubs/restuarants /hospitals/offices/etc/etc past 6 have no life??

No I am not saying that they don't have a life.

People shop throughout the year with regular opening hours, so why they can't do that at christmas is beyond me. I accept that they have more the buy than normal, but realistically how many people work 7 days a week??
