Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great to see New Zealand test matches being covered by Sky Sports. Long may this continue :)

    G'wan the Black Caps. :)

News is Sri Lanka won the toss, and inexplicably, in NZ conditions and a green-top an Irish groundsman would be proud of, Mahela Jayawardene decided to bat:confused:

Now they find themselves after 12 overs and an hour of play, at 50/3

132/9 .... A huge 6 and then out by Maharoof .... Oram doing the job. Chris Martin took his 100th test wicket today, with what seems like years to get off 99!

And in comes Murali.... this will be short, but sweet :)

I wonder are we the only two people in Ireland watching this game! :D
For some reason, I'm staying up later for this match than any of the Ashes. *boggle* :D

Questions must be asked as to how far down the pecking order Paul Allott has fallen, that he's doing the overnights on this series. And why bring Jeremy Coney all the way from NZ for this? He's one of the more articulate commentators, imo.

Listening to Radio Sport online for the night.... local ads are good. :)
    NZ 88/2 this morning

Crap, Radio Sport's commentary inst working online, so infrequent looks at Cricinfo will have to suffice, unless someone is looking at Sky Sports.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

    SL 143/9

    Malinga c McCullum b Franklin 0

Lead of 91, bit of rain in the air, they've been off already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

A pure "what happened next" moment....

    SL 170 all out
    Muralitharan run out 8

53.1 Bond to Sangakkara, 1 run, OUT, what's going on here, Sangakkara whips that down to fine leg and the single brings up his century, but Murali touched down at the striker's end, turned around and left his crease to congratulate Sangakkara, the throw came in and McCullum whipped off the bails to run-out Murali, what a way for the innings to end. The ball was not dead and Murali should not have left his crease, it's all very unfortunate for Sri Lanka.

State of play: Rain, early lunch taken.

    Sri Lanka 154 & 170 (53.1 ov)
    New Zealand 206

New Zealand need 119 runs to win.
